Bruce's story begins with another reptile friend, Stumpy the Lizard. One day, I was invited to the home of Stumpy for dinner. No, not actually by Stumpy for a feast of endive, turnip greens, and hibiscus leaves, but rather by Stumpy's owners. I fell in love with Stumpy. Quickly abandoning plans of lizard-napping, luring him home with a pocket full of bee pollen and other such questionable methods, I began a month and a half long period of debating whether I should actually try to find a reptile friend for myself.

Alas, it came to fruition on Christmas day 2005! No, I didn't find Bruce that day, but I did receive a nice new home for a lizard that we would later find to be Bruce. After wasting most of a day at work calling around to pet stores in search of a lizard friend, I had a lead that there may be an adorable little Mali looking for a good home. Well, the rest is history. That night, Bruce packed his bags and came home with me.

Bruce settled in quickly. He had his bags unpacked, put on his shades and was happily soaking up the artificial UVA and UVB rays in his basking spot. Bruce quickly found the camera and gladly strikes up a pose. And so there you go...if he's willing and I have the camera, more and more Bruce pictures will show up for years to come!
